Jan Ardui started his career in 1983 as a Gestalt psychotherapist and moved into the study and teaching of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). As an international certified NLP trainer he has taught in Europe, Morocco, and Russia.
Under the inspiration of Gregory Bateson’s work he has become increasingly attracted to, and aligned with, a deep systemic approach.
This background has led to the development of an original model of coaching and on-going research into concepts such as Reflective Feedback, Generative Complementarities, and Systemic Presence.
In his work, Jan focuses on the fundamental dynamic of excellence: the ability to create something superb with what is present, in spite of how simple or complex it may be.
Jan believes deeply in the importance of tuning into the existing choreography of positive qualities and weaknesses of an individual or system, thereby stimulating the unfolding of its deep dynamics and core patterns. Recognizing this unique configuration, without the desire or need to change something, creates the most favorable conditions for sustainable change, learning, and growth.
In much the same way, good cooks do not need a lot of ingredients to make a fantastic dish. They appreciate the specific qualities and particularities of each ingredient and combine them in a refined and often surprising way. They do not complain about not having the right ingredients. In the end there is a whole dish in which every ingredient is necessary and present in the best possible way.
